Little Cat Feet, Moving On

Fog

THE FOG comes
on little cat feet.

It sits looking
over harbor and city
on silent haunches
and then moves on.

~ Carl Sandburg (1878–1967) [Chicago Poems, 1916]

I could be on 180 tension, when I look at a sleeping cat's face I calm down ! It's the best and most healthiest mean for stressed people ! Isn't he so cute when he sleeps ? They have so peaceful faces.

Morgan is a beauty, and looks warm and friendly too. Thank you for the Sandburg poem; it's always been one of my favorites and one of the first I memorized when I was little.

Morgan reminds me of my first cat, Maxie. Oh, what a great kitty he was!

Morgan is a cutie-pie! Don't you wish you could relax so easily?! LOL We'd all be in better moods if we could sleep like that! D :)

That is one of my favorite poems! It is quite perfect for Morgan who looks so soft and grey, just like the fog. Lovely pictures!

I love that the Sandburg poem itself is kind of like little cat feet--it wafts in like fog...and then, just as quickly...is gone. *smile*

There's a choral rendition of Sandburg's The Fog that is stunning. It is a round and I love to teach it to my students. Great to see it here!

So my thought on that poem - if the little cat feet he's talking about were MY cats' feet, the fog'd be denting the cars...

Morgan is such a beautiful GIRL - and her stripes always make me think of my Willow kitty - and now also of Pogo, although Pogo is brownish :)

She sleeps so serenely when you are busy flashing away with the camera!
