Day 2: Full Speed Ahead

This morning we discovered that little Miss Llama can run, just like a big llama. Yep, on those spindly little legs of hers, and in a mere 24 hours of life, she can already fly around the pasture fast enough to elude a 2-legged human being.

Yesterday was the perfect day, 70 degrees F and sunny; today turned cool and drizzly. Under the grey sky, Little Miss looked even whiter than yesterday.

Here she is with her very attentive mama, Lacey, with grandma-llama Switzer keeping an eye on her as well.

She also had a special visitor today--Sean, who helped raise her mama Lacey at Queso Cabeza and showed her extensively before she came to live with us.

And I believe I got her to wink at the camera...

Finally, I thought you might like to decide whether the baby resembles her father, Harley...

Fortunately or unfortunately you cannot see me ! I am sitting here and laugh (My husband just got up and put one finger on his front) because of the look that the lama has, makes me laugh so much ! They look so offended if you had just done or said something wrong. I've only seen Lamas in the Zoo and in Egypt. I like them very much even though everybody tells me not to go to close, because they sometimes spit. Did you already have this experience ? Probably. Next time if I am in a bad mood or depressed I just have a look on your Lamas !
And the little one is adorable !
Thank you so much for the comments I will come back to you per email

yes! they get that extremely offended look (quite often, in fact)--heehee! they remind me of cats in that respect. they only cooperate with you WHEN and IF they feel like it...and they make quite certain that you know they are only going along with your plans because it suits them, and not because you want them to!

Mostly they seem to spit at each other, but I got quite doused with spit recently when Lacey got into the boys pasture and Graty attempted to mate with her. She was actually firing a full charge of spit at HIM, but I got within range and it was like being hit with a warm, rotten spinach milkshake shot out of a hose! EWWWW!

They definitely have very expressive faces! They're almost smirking in the Sean pic.

Quit chasing those llamas!

I'm almost positive I met Sean at the MI fiber fest. Either way, I DO remember seeing the "Queso Cabeza" people and being like, "Cheese head, what?"

Oh well.

Beautiful llamas, indeed. Almost makes me miss living away from rural MI!

Hmm... Are you SURE that's her daddy?? ;)
