DIY Cat Scratcher Pattern
A few months ago I wanted to figure out how to make a cardboard scratcher for the girls. Well, someone has finally posted directions for a good-looking and what appears to be easy-to-make cardboard cat scratcher. I'm sure the girls would like this one. (Thanks to moderncat for the link.)

I saw that on moderncat, too! Are you going to make one?
I love that scratcher. Yes, do make one so we can see it :)
I can think of a couple of cats who would love that...it would be an extra to the furniture!
My cats of course don't need that, but it looks very nice ! they go out and scratch the trees !
What about participating in Cats on Tuesday again ?
even though they have two scratchers already, our cats love to work over the carpet, the office chair, and the futon, too. i think they miss the cat tree they used to have back in Michigan!
i definitely want to try making this, though. i wonder how hard it is to get it tight enough to hold up to plenty of scratching? i guess i just have to make one and post about it, eh?
Cool! You making one?
A couple of years ago I bought the orange beastie one of those rectangle cardboard scratchers from the supermarket. He loved it, though most of the time he'd use it like a sled--land on it from a dead run and slide across the rug on it.
Now it's all worn out and I don't feel like spending money on another one when I could drag home some of the cardboard scraps from work.
Yes. Make one and post about it so we can learn from your mistakes. Ah, expertise. ;)
Hez has many, many scratchers but her favorites are the cat tree (whew) and any cardboard lying on the floor.
Good information regarding this homemade catch scratcher. I like how one can strip pieces of cardboard boxes and mold it into an intricate circular pattern. Thanks for posting this.
I haven't made this yet but still think it's cool. Let me know if you make one!
