Kitten Update

We got Isis' bloodwork back and her CBC was completely normal. No indications of distemper--whew! Next step is to take a stool sample to our vet--could be worms or something. (I've actually never had a kitten that didn't need to be dewormed, but I didn't know worms could cause such a high fever.)

In the meantime, Isis is getting back to being her crazy, playful kittenish self and has had a pretty wholesome appetite today. Hooray!

I've taken the fleece and started doing a little carding, but it's so tedious...yet must card to spin, and must spin to have llama yarn!

Best kitty wishes to Isis! I hope it is just something simple. When Sally was a baby (well, mine were both babies together) she ate a piece of onion on the floor without us knowing and was deathly sick for days (onion, even the skin, is poisonous to cats!) A few weeks later Willow jumped on a hot burner and burned both front feet -- I was a frazzled kitty-mama myself!

I knew onions were bad for cats and dogs, but not that bad! Eeek! And poor Willow!!!

Today Isis has been chasing Emma around the house, playing with her toys, ambushing our feet, and generally being kittenish. Still gotta get the poop to the vet, but I'm so relieved she's feeling better for the moment. I was a wreck... =)

Glad to hear Isis is doing better! Very anxiety producing, sick fur babies...

:o) if she is playing that hard the worse must be over (crossing paws and fingers here for you!)

Kittens are EXPERTS at the foot ambush game ;o)

Chris, if I feed Isis the same thing you feed Chaos, do you think she'll become a giantess?

And between you and rhelynn, I've gotta paw thru some of my old knit mags now. Not sure what could possibly compete with porn-mustache guy in knit speedo, though...hm.
