Poem for Isis, and Cats Like Her
As midnight traces land’s cheek
and the lip of the sea,
black cat slinks
Belly to the earth,
grass evening-cool against silence
and padding paws
Whiskers abristle and aquiver,
eyes moongreen
beams while the rest dissolves,
an inkblot in the pool of night.

Isis has the most beautiful eyes. I love their "cat-eye" shape.
Oh, I really like your ode to Isis and her kind. Very mysterious. She is gorgeous.
What a beautiful poem for a beautiful cat. I used to have a black cat...I called him Shadow...but my friend used to call him Spook, because she couldn't see him in the dark!
Have a lovely weekend.
Hugs
I just love cat poems, and that is a lovely one. A beautiful kitty, too.
Take care, Meow
Beautiful poem for a beautiful cat!
